Retrenchment is something akin to downsizing . When a company or government goes through retrenchment, it reduces outgoing money or expenditures or redirects focus in an attempt to become more financially solvent. Retrenchment is therefore a common phenomenon in the industry. Just as often employers are taken to the CCMA or bargaining council for unfair retrenchment. Retrenchment is reviewed in a form suitable for integration with Z refinement, and is used to address one such issue in detail: the finiteness of the transaction sequence number in the purse funds transfer protocol. Offers

Any such offer of reemployment must be accepted within 15 working days after the date of the offer, such acceptance to take effect not later than the beginning of the semester immediately following the date the offer was made.
Alternatives to retrenchment - on the basis of a careful analysis of the situation we must seek alternatives to retrenchment once the company has informed us of proposed retrenchments.
